National Digital Library of India (NDLI) and NDLI Club are initiatives of Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India, which are being implemented by IIT Kharagpur. Please go through the “About” page of NDLI (https://www.ndl.gov.in/) and NDLI Club (https://www.club.ndl.gov.in/) websites to know more about these initiatives. Both NDLI and NDLI Club are in project mode and hence these are time-bound rather than perpetual entities.
About NDLI Clubs
A virtual teaching-learning-evaluation-knowledge discovery and innovation platform to encourage collaborative, personalized, self-paced, new-age multi-media education at all levels.
- NDLI and NDLI Admin mean implementing authority of the NDLI and NDLI Club projects.
- NDLI Club and NDLI Club Admin mean the authority of the Institute where the Club is set up (Patron, President, Secretary and Executive Members of the Club of the Institute).
- Member means anybody signing up in NDLI and NDLI Club websites as member of an NDLI Club with the purpose of accessing resources of these websites and participating in the Events conducted in the NDLI Club.

Terms and Conditions
3.1 By singing up to use the NDLI and NDLI Club websites and by participating in events of NDLI Club, I agree to be bound by the terms and conditions mentioned below which are also posted in the website of NDLI Club. NDLI and NDLI Admin reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions from time to time. NDLI and NDLI Admin will do their best to notify me in advance of the changes being made in the terms and conditions.
3.2 As part of my sign up process in NDLI and NDLI Club websites, I am voluntarily submitting my personal information such as name, e-mail address, mobile no., date of birth, etc. in NDLI and NDLI Club websites. NDLI and NDLI Admin handle this information carefully and in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
3.3 While singing up at the NDLI and NDLI Club websites, I shall use a valid and currently usable e-mail address, provide and maintain accurate, current and complete information about myself as may be prompted by any form or question on the websites and maintain the security of my Password.
3.4 Since NDLI and NDLI Club are time bound projects, NDLI and NDLI Admin reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue websites of NDLI and NDLI Club, or any part of these, at any time, for any reason without prior notice.
3.5 NDLI and NDLI Admin reserve the right to terminate any NDLI Club or its Event(s) or deregister any member of any NDLI Club without assigning any reason.
3.6 Events conducted by NDLI Clubs may be competitive in nature and a Member participating in such an event may earn reward points or win awards or prizes, based on his/her performance in the event. Performance of Members participating in the event may be assessed by Event Outcome Reviewer(s)/Assessor(s) appointed by the corresponding NDLI Club Admin. Reviewer(s)/Assessor(s) carry out assessment based on either on-stage performance of the Member (e.g. Debate) or on the basis of the submissions made by the Member for the event in NDLI Club website. Based on this assessment, the Reviewer(s)/ Assessor(s) declare winner(s) or assigns reward points, or awards or prizes to Members, as may be relevant for an Event. The assessment made by the Reviewer(s)/Assessor(s) are binding to all Members. NDLI Club Admin or NDLI Admin will not entertain any query or dispute raised on the assessment or decision of the Reviewer(s)/Assessor(s).
3.7 I am solely responsible in all respects for all use of and for protecting the confidentiality of my particulars and password for using NDLI and NDLI Club websites. I shall not share these with or transfer these to any third party. I shall notify NDLI and NDLI Admin immediately of any unauthorized use of these or any other breach of security regarding NDLI and NDLI Club websites that comes to my attention.
3.8 I represent, warrant and agree that no material of any kind submitted through my account or otherwise posted, transmitted, or shared by me on or through the website of NDLI Club will violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other personal or proprietary rights; or contain unlawful material.
3.9 I grant the Creative Commons license (BY-NC-SA) for any content I create in any NDLI Club Event and submit in NDLI Club website and permit NDLI and NDLI Admin to publish these contents in NDLI and NDLI Club websites and any other public portal like YouTube© and to make these contents available to all visitors of these websites and portals.
3.10 I agree that the contents I submit in the NDLI Club website shall not violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other personal or proprietary rights and shall not be harmful, threatening, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, harassing, vulgar, obscene, fraudulent, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. In case any such content is ever noticed, NDLI and NDLI Admin will remove such contents without notice and suspend that NDLI Club or its concerned member(s).
3.11 I agree not to use NDLI and NDLI Club websites to:
- harvest or collect email addresses or other contact information of other members from NDLI and NDLI Club websites by electronic or other means for the purposes of sending unsolicited communications.
- use these websites in any unlawful manner or in any other manner that could damage, disable, overload or impair the websites or the servers on which these are hosted.
- use automated scripts to collect information from or otherwise interact with these websites.
- inject software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of these websites.
- impersonate any person or institute, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent myself, my age or my affiliation with a institute; use or attempt to use another’s account, service or system without authorization from NDLI and NDLI Admin.
3.12 NDLI and NDLI Admin shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with:
(a) any error or inaccuracy in the data entered by me or any other member.
(b) loss of reputation. NDLI Clubs and NDLI Club Admins do their very best to ensure that no inappropriate content ends up on NDLI Club website but, by its nature, cannot be responsible for what other Members write.
(c) loss of data or damage to others computers. NDLI, NDLI Admin, NDLI Clubs and NDLI Club Admins cannot guarantee that any material on NDLI Club website will be free from infection, viruses and/or other code that has contaminating or destructive properties
(d) loss to the extent caused by my misuse of NDLI Club or breach of these terms of use.
3.13 Anybody signing up in NDLI and NDLI Club websites is responsible for ensuring that his/her computer system or any other access device meets all relevant technical specifications necessary to use these websites and is compatible with these websites. He/she also understands that he/she is responsible for implementing sufficient procedures and virus checks (including anti-virus and other security checks) to protect his/her computer system or access device.
3.14 NDLI and NDLI Admin have taken all reasonable measures to secure access to NDLI and NDLI Club websites and protect Members’ data and usage information. However, they cannot guarantee or warranty absolute secrecy of these data.
3.15 NDLI and NDLI Admin makes every effort to keep the NDLI and NDLI Club websites up and running smoothly. However, NDLI and NDLI Admin take no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the websites being unavailable due to technical issues or otherwise.
3.16 All members of the club to abide by the rules of the event.
