Application Invited for Akikaran Fellowship for School Associates

Akikaran Fellowship is a leadership development journey where fellows will get multiple opportunities to grow and learn. The 18 months fellowship program will provide an opportunity for young graduates from different universities and workplaces, to serve as full-time School associates working in most under-resourced schools across 11 states in India. Through this experience of teaching in classrooms and working with key education stakeholders like students, principals, Government, and parents, the fellows will work on building the school ecosystem.

  • Compensation:  A monthly stipend of Rs. 45,000 will be provided to the Fellow
  • Duration: The Akikaran REACH Fellowship is a 18-month program
  • Location: Multiple locations across 11 states in India
  • Deadline for submission: 10th July 2024, 6 pm

SEL Research Fellow:

A Fellow will be working in the domain of education to improve educational inputs and outcomes with in remote geographies across 11 states of India.  They will be tasked with drawing insights and identifying gaps in the integration of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) in education-based interventions, through the lens of Gender, Equity, and Social Inclusion (GESI). The nature of the work will involve leading research efforts to observe, analyze, and enhance SEL integration through a GESI lens. This role requires experience in conducting research, an understanding of research methodologies, and familiarity with SEL, gender dynamics, equity issues, and social inclusion strategies. The Fellow will also provide program support as and when needed.

Program Support Fellow:

A Fellow will be workingto assist in the implementation of programs with a GESI focus. The fellow will work closely with program teams to support the execution, monitoring, and improvement of program activities.

Through this Action Research Fellowship, we are addressing critical challenges faced by marginalized communities in remote regions of India. We envision a social change where marginalized communities in remote regions of India have equitable access to quality education, gender equity, social inclusion and mental well-being.

Problems we address:

  1. Lack of access to quality integrated programs in SEL and wellbeing with a focus on gender equity and social inclusion in remote regions
  2. Lack of resource mobilization and capacity support for remote geographies organizations

Outcomes we want to achieve:

  1. Enhanced access to quality education, gender equity and inclusion for marginalized children
  2. Focused support for understanding and researching SEL integration within programs across remote geographies
  3. Collaborative knowledge and research generated
