The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is hiring a full-time Research Associate (RA) for a project on: Business strategies and public policies aimed at boosting electric vehicle adoption in India.
The RA will be supervised jointly by Prof. Sandip Chakrabarti and Prof. Anish Sugathan. The RA will be required to conduct literature reviews, design and manage/oversee large-scale consumer surveys, conduct industry and policy expert interviews, analyze data, make presentations, write reports, organize workshops, and engage in other project management activities.
- Applicants must have research and/or work experience in the domain of clean energy and/or sustainable transportation.
- Experience in the electric mobility domain is highly desirable.
- Applicants must have strong quantitative (data analytics) skills, excellent oral communication and writing skills, experience in market research and writing industry/research reports/white papers, and the ability to organize events.
- At least two (2) years of academic research or industry experience is a must.
- Postdoctoral candidates are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Applicants must have a master’s degree in engineering/management/economics or a subject related to energy/environment with substantial coursework in quantitative methods.
- Applicants must have strong quantitative data analysis skills, sound knowledge of econometric methods, experience of data analysis using any standard software (R/Stata), excellent communication skills (both written and oral) in English, experience in conducting/managing market research, and past record of authoring/co-authoring/contributing to industry/research reports/white papers.
- At least two (2) years of academic research or industry work experience in the domain of clean energy and/or sustainable transportation (electric mobility domain is preferred) is required.
- Postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to apply.
- For candidates with a Ph.D., the above work experience requirement may be waived.
Duration:
- This is a full-time on-campus job. The position will be initially offered for a period of six months and may be extended up to one year depending on performance, at the discretion of the faculty supervisors.
- The Research Associate will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and will be required to travel within India.
Salary: Compensation will be governed by IIMA’s policy, commensurate with qualification and experience.
