Applications are invited for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under the following ICMR-sponsored project:

Details of the Position

Title of the project: Targeting autophagic pathway to override Imatinib resistance in Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia

Principal Investigator: Dr. Avik Acharya Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, JIS University, Kolkata

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Degree in Life Sciences/Biological Science/ Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Chemistry from a recognized University/ Institute with valid NET/GATE qualification. Candidate should have minimum 55% marks in all examinations.

Age limit: Must not be over 30 years as on 03.01.2023, which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.

Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- (pm) + 27% HRA

Project duration: Initially one year and may be extended for another 2 years based on performance of the candidate and availability of funds.

  1. One-page motivation letter (explaining suitability for the position)
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV) including Name and contact details of two referees
  3. NET/GATE qualification certificate
  4. All certificates and mark sheets

The candidate is expected to enrol for the Ph.D. program and work in areas directly related to the projects. After completion of two years, an external assessment by the University where the candidate is enrolled for Ph.D. is mandatory for upgradation from JRF to SRF. The fellow may be awarded SRF after successful assessment.
