The Azim Premji Scholarship Programme is part of Azim Premji Foundation’s commitment to improving quality and equity of education in India. The programme seeks to support girl students from disadvantaged backgrounds in their pursuit of college education.
About the Programme
Access to education becomes increasingly difficult when a student, especially a girl, moves from primary to secondary schooling, and even more so in higher education. The reasons are many, ranging from distance to institutions, social mores and financial constraints.
The Azim Premji Scholarship Programme seeks to help address the matter of financial constraints that girls face in accessing college education.
Applications for the academic year 2024-25 cohort will open in the second week of September 2024.
- In this cycle (year 2024-25), we will support girl students who have passed Grade X and XII both from a government school and have secured admission in the first year of a regular degree or diploma programme of a government or credible bona fide private college/ university (more details below).
- Selected students will be awarded a scholarship of INR 30,000 per year for the entire duration (two, three, four or five years) of the undergraduate course/ programme to cover tuition fees or any other expenses incurred towards completion of their education.
