Call for Proposals: National Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Research Facility

NIDM has launched the National Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Research facility under IUINDRR-NIDM to strengthen and promote research in the field of DRR. The national DRR research facility has been established to answer the questions related to disaster risk reduction for the state/ districts through research and innovations.

The facility aims to offer solutions for mitigating and minimizing disaster risks through new innovations and action research. The results of this research are envisioned to help alleviate the challenges that disasters pose to the various regions across the country.

  • Deadline: September 4, 2024

NIDM is calling for proposals in the following categories:


  • The selected scholars enrolled in a full-time Ph.D. programme in a UGC-recognized institution/university in any discipline and willing to work on Disaster Studies would be eligible for Junior and Senior Research Fellowship (JRF/SRF) as per UGC norms for a maximum period of five years.
    • Total No. of Seats: 5
      • Fellowship @ Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA for 2 years (JRF)
      • @ Rs.42, 000/- p.m. + HRA for remaining tenure (SRF)
      • Contingency @ Rs.10,000/-p.a. for initial two years
      • @ Rs.20,500/-p.a. for remaining tenure

  • Research Project/Study on Disaster Management: Innovation & Action Research The selected faculty members and scientists (regular or with 8 years of experience) would be eligible for research grant for a period not exceeding two years.
  • Total seats: 5
  • Duration of project/study: 1-2 years
    • Financial support up to an amount of INR 8 Lakh shall be provided by NIDM.
