About the Research Meet

The focus theme for this year’s GRM is ‘Power, Movement, and Memory’. The 10th edition of GRM is scheduled to be held on 09th and 10th December 2024. The GRM team encourages students to submit research articles that align with the focus theme and related subthemes.
- An extended abstract of 500-800 words containing 3 to 5 keywords, title of the paper, research objectives, methodology and key findings has to be submitted
- The last date of submission of abstracts is 15th August 2024
While power permeates every facet of human society, it also provides the ground for negotiation. The movement of human and non-human entities (ideas, values, goods, lifeforms and so on), and the production of memories have been a result of, and a challenge to, society’s existing power dynamics. Memory, as a mediated outcome of power and movement, holds central agency for revisiting and reconstructing the past and identities. Going beyond disciplinary conventions, this GRM wishes to explore the functioning of power, movements, and memories as mutually distinct issues and/or in connection with each other.
As an interdisciplinary department of the humanities and social sciences, offering opportunities in the disciplines of Economics, English, Linguistics, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, History, Archaeology, Political Science, and Development Studies, we invite papers related to, but not limited to, the following sub-themes:
