About the Scholarship

The management members of Harkisan Mehta Institute (www.hmmra.ac.in) are delighted to inform you that this year (Academic Year 2022), Chitralekha Magazine has decided to sponsor 5 (five) post graduate students of Journalism for the course Journalism and Digital Media in the academic year 2022-2023.

This coveted scholarship is available for students who have got a passion to pursue journalism but doesn’t have the financial means to study the discipline at a reputed institute.

  • This is a 100% fully paid scholarship of Rs. 2.37 lakhs for each student which will cover everything from Tuition Fees to Library Fees.
  • The student will pay zero for the course.
  • The education and professional training of the student will be completely sponsored.
  • The student will also be offered a paid journalistic internship at the end of the one-year course.

Below are the requirements for this course for students:

  1. A passion to become a journalist in India
  2. A graduate in any stream with at least 50% marks.
  3. Candidates must stay in Mumbai, Thane or Navi Mumbai or should be prepared to stay in Mumbai for the entire duration of course (one year).
  4. Maximum 25 years of age.
  5. A family income of less than Rs. 15 lakhs per annum.

The students will be selected through an online test and a personal interview with the Dean of the institute.

Course details:

  1. Full-time course, classes from 11 am to 4 pm at Mithibai College campus, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai.
  2. Classes from Monday to Friday, Five days a week. This an on-campus, classroom programme.
  3. Four Semesters of three months each from September 2022 to August 2023.
  4. Internship/Job offer on successful completion of course with reputed companies.
  5. The course will be conducted in primarily English and secondarily Hindi (mixed mode).
