Role and Responsibility
The Research assistant should be well-versed with Marathi. She/He will be responsible for finding archival material for a research project on ‘Caste in colonial Maharashtra’. Majority of the archival material will be in Marathi, so the research assistant will also be responsible for the translation.
Starting date: Flexible but preference will be given to someone who can start immediately.
Tasks involved: Finding relevant documents and taking pictures/photocopies and emailing them.
Location: Pune archives, Peshwa Daftar
Remuneration: Based on qualifications and experience.
Minimum Qualification: Master in Social Sciences, preferably history. Previous experience in archival research is an added asset.
