Concept Note

Sustainable Development presents an ideal model of development, taking into account the needs of the present generation as well as of posterity via judicious use of natural resources. The seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified and adopted by all United Nations Member States intend to eradicate poverty, eliminate inequality, address environmental degradation, and ensure peace and justice globally by 2030.

Much of the discussions in this area focus on the economic, social, and political dimensions implicit in these ideas. However, the significant role that literary, ethical, and religious perspectives play in envisaging and developing a sustainable ethos needs to be considered as it could significantly contribute towards moulding better humans and, therefore, better societies

Literary endeavours, both creative and educational, can ideally be a meeting point capable of eliciting and sustaining such discussions. Hence, the conference attempts to be a novel venture, initiating and inviting innovative observations and thought-provoking discussions on sustainable development through literary, ethical, and religious lenses.
