Invites Applications for National Panel of Resource Persons for Children’s Activities

National Book Trust, India has been actively working towards the promotion of books and encouraging the culture of reading in the country. We develop and make available age-appropriate reading material in over 70 Indian languages and dialects. To promote a reading culture in the country, NBT-India organise book fairs & exhibitions, seminars & conferences, workshops & activities, mobile van exhibitions & pustak parikramas, among other events.

National Centre for Children’s Literature – the children’s research and activity wing of National Book Trust, India regularly organises workshops, fairs, camps, sessions and various other book-related activities across the country to promote books and develop the habit of reading among children. We engage experts and resource persons from various fields for these sessions with children.

Empanelment – We are seeking Applications from experienced individuals and professionals from relevant fields for empanelment as Resource Persons for Children’s Activities – as and when required.

NBT-India aims to build the National Panel of Resource Persons for Children’s Activities to bring together a diverse group of experts and professionals dedicated to promoting the well- being and development of children across the nation. Members of the panel will have the opportunity to contribute their knowledge, skills, and creativity to the design and implementation of a wide range of activities and programs for children of all ages and backgrounds.

The panel will comprise experts from various fields, including but not limited to:

  1. Storytellers and performers (in all Indian languages besides English & Hindi)
  2. Artists/Illustrators specializing in children’s literature
  3. Educators specializing in children’s literature
  4. Creative writing professionals for children
  5. Art & Craft professionals
  6. Calligraphers and handwriting experts
  7. Theatre artists & facilitators
  8. Puppet artists
  9. Cartoonists/Caricature artists specializing in children’s literature
  10. Professionals in Science-based activities for children

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduate in any discipline
  • Certificate/training in their respective fields like education, child development, child psychology, fine arts, children’s literature, art & craft, storytelling, theatre, etc.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience and expertise working with children, conducting innovative and creative programme for children.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, ability to engage children in a participatory and interactive manner and fluency in the local and English languages.
  • Willingness to travel extensively anywhere in India

Terms and Conditions:

  • The Empanelment of Resource Persons is not to be treated as “Employment” or regular “Engagement” in any manner.
  • The Resource Persons would be working with NBT-India in a collaborative mode as and when required.
  • The Empanelment does not attract any right to get a work order for activities.
  • The validity of the empanelment is as per the policy of NBT-India.
  • The Competent Authority reserves the right to cancel the Empanelment at any timewithout providing any reason.
  • The empanelled Resource Persons would be informed about the requirement as and when the need arises.
  • Resource Persons will be entitled to an Honorarium of Rs.5000/- per session/day.
  • There is a provision for taking care of travel, accommodation and meals for resource persons by NBT-India for attending events outside their hometown.

Empanelment process:

Based on the qualifications, experience, aptitude and mutual exploration during the initial orientation/online discussion, suitable persons will be considered forenlisting /empanelling as resource persons for children’s activities by NBT-India.
