Concept Note:

On August 15, 2022, India will commemorate 75 years of Independence. This is the ideal opportunity to reflect on the contributions made by our women freedom fighters and pay our respect to them for their role in India’s freedom struggle.

In this context the Department of History, School of Social Sciences in association with NSOU Centre for Social Studies, Netaji Subhas Open University will conduct an online National-level Student Seminar on the topic Role of Women in Indian Freedom Struggle on 16 August, 2022.

Students are invited to submit papers on the role of women against the British colonial government in Gandhian movements, armed revolutionary movements, peasants, tribal, workers’ movements etc.

Eligibility:

This National-level seminar will be open to all PG/UG students/learners enrolled in the Universities and Colleges of India.

Submission of Paper:

The name, class, department, university/college, enrolment/registration no., contact details and email id of the student/learner should be written at the top right-hand corner of the first page.

The papers (between 1200-1500 words along with references) may be written in Bengali or English and mailed to anuradhaghose62@gmail.com by 20 July, 2022. The paper should be original and UGC guidelines regarding plagiarism must be adhered to.

Acceptance of paper for presentation:

The submitted papers will be judged strictly on the basis of merit by the Department of History, NSOU. The letter of acceptance of paper, with suggested modifications, if any, will be sent to the students by 27 July, 2022.

Paper Presentation with PPT

Authors of selected best papers on ‘Role of Women in Indian Freedom Struggle’ will be invited to present their papers with a powerpoint presentation (PPT) on 16 August, 2022, in the virtual mode.
