The program is to be considered for CAS benefit of teachers as per UGC Regulation 2018.
The Ministry of Education (erstwhile, Ministry of Human Resource Development) launched the Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) in 2014 and one of its major component Teaching
Learning Centre (TLC)s have been engaged in facilitating teacher training throughout the country. The Teaching Learning
Centre, Tezpur University, Assam was set up in 2016 and it is engaged in assisting capacity building of the teachers for
development of innovative skills in teaching, curriculum design, assessment and evaluation techniques since its inception.
The Centre is specifically encouraged to reach out to the teachers working in regionally disadvantaged locations of Assam
and the North East India. The Centre offers month long Faculty Induction Programs, Refresher Courses, Short Term Courses
(including Faculty Development Programs on discipline specific themes, ICT tools in Teaching, Assessment and Evaluation)
and Action Research Programs. Since April 2020, TLC, Tezpur University has been conducting its programs in online
mode following PMMMNMTT Guidelines and UGC Regulations

The FDP will include both live sessions and pre-recorded video sessions disseminated in online mode. The entire program
will be managed through Google Classroom and WebEx platform. Those who fail to join the live session must watch the
recorded video in a timely manner. However, joining live sessions is desirable.
The FDP is open to Faculty members (regular/ad-hoc/temporary) from any Indian university/college/institute and Research
Scholars, aspiring teachers from the country. Registration is mandatory for all the participants of the FDP
