The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes the integration of digital literacy and cyber safety across all levels of education. It recognizes the critical need to empower learners, educators, and parents with knowledge and skills to navigate an increasingly digital world responsibly. In this context, the rapid proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile devices has revolutionized everyday life, connecting people, devices, and services like never before. While these technologies enhance efficiency, convenience, and innovation, they also present significant challenges, including security vulnerabilities, legal complexities, and the need for robust cyber hygiene practices.

This training program aims to address these challenges by equipping participants with a comprehensive understanding of IoT fundamentals, principles, and risks in the context of NEP 2020’s vision of a technology-enabled education system. It will explore the double-edged nature of IoT devices, their potential to transform education and society, and the associated risks that demand proactive measures.

Additionally, participants will gain insights into the legal landscape surrounding IoT and mobile devices, emphasizing the importance of compliance and responsible use. As the NEP 2020 advocates fostering critical thinking and preparing learners for 21st-century challenges, this program aligns with its objectives by promoting awareness of IoT safety and cyber hygiene. By the end of the training, participants will be equipped to navigate the complexities of the hyper-connected world, ensuring safe and ethical technology use in personal and professional settings.

In line with this vision, CIET-NCERT, in collaboration with I4C, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), is organizing a five-day online training program titled “Internet of Things (IoT) and Mobile Devices and its Safety.” The training will be conducted in two versions: the English version from 2ⁿᵈ to 6ᵗʰ December 2024 and the Hindi version from 9ᵗʰ to 13ᵗʰ December 2024. This program aims to empower teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively understand and implement IoT safety practices.
