  1. Unani medicine, also known as Unani Tibb or Greco-Arabic medicine, is a traditional healing system that originated in ancient Greece and was further developed by Arab and Persian scholars. It is based on the teachings of Hippocrates (Greece), Galen (Rome), and later, prominent Arab physicians like Avicenna (Ibn Sina). It is practiced widely in South Asia, especially in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, and is recognized as a form of alternative medicine in many countries.
    Principles of Unani Medicine:
    1. Four Humors (Akhlat):
    Blood (Dam)
    Phlegm (Balgham)
    Yellow bile (Safra)
    Black bile (Sauda)
Health is believed to depend on the balance of these humors.
    2. Temperament (Mizaj): Every individual has a unique temperament, classified as hot, cold, moist, or dry. Treatment is tailored to balance the individual’s temperament.
    3. Healing Power of Nature (Tabiyat):
The body has an innate ability to heal itself, and Unani treatment aims to support this natural process.
    4. Six Essentials for Health (Asbab-e-Sitta Zarooriya):

Mental activity and rest (Harakat wa Sukoon Nafsaniya)
Evacuation and retention (Istifragh wa Ihtibas)
    Treatment Methods:

Regimen Therapy (Ilaj Bil Tadbeer): Techniques like cupping, massage, exercise, and leeching.
Surgery (Ilaj Bil Yad): For conditions that require surgical intervention.

    Senna (Cassia angustifolia)
    Aloe vera
    Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum)
    Saffron (Crocus sativus)

Emphasizes prevention of diseases alongside treatment.
