CONCEPT NOTE
The major objective of this FDP titled Communication Skills is to address the growing scope in different fields. Faculty members and research scholars of universities face syllabi and technical challenges owing to the vastly different styles of communication. It varies from
academics to the professional sphere to social media.The UGC has introduced a skill based module on Communications from 2022 onwards. It has given teachers the flexibility to source material within
the framework and guidelines provided by them. It has also given faculty of autonomous colleges the freedom to create a skill based module for optional subjects. In this context, Literature needs to impart
skills as well. The Department offers ‘Visual Communication’s as a Department specific Skill Enhancement Course (DSEC). Given these challenges in syllabus Development and dissemination of skills this FDP draws experts from arenas of Corporate,Media and Academics to give a comprehensive look at the dynamics of communication.
The bottom line being to understand and apply skills for:
- Purpose driven communications
- Trends in corporate communications
- Social Media and language
- Content Creation
- Code switching and Code mixing
