Concept Note
Cultural studies, an innovative interdisciplinary field of research investigate the ways in which culture creates and transforms individual experiences, social relations and power. Combining the strengths of the social sciences and the humanities, cultural studies draws on methods and theories from literary studies, sociology, history, linguistics, cultural anthropology, psychology, social work and economics. Studies on culture explore the underlying power structures and problems of today’s world. The backdrop of culture in various forms of arts like literature, films and paintings should be diligently traced and the study would enthuse the minds to understand better the significance of culture in our life.
