In the wake of escalating environmental crises, the narratives we create about ecology and our connection to the natural world are more significant than ever. Engaging in deep ecological discourses can help promote sustainability while facilitating the development of new methodologies and approaches for integrating ecological perspectives into cultural production. The proposed national seminar, “Eco Spectrum: (Un) Settling the Real, the Imagined and Beyond,” celebrates the richness and diversity of perspectives that a transdisciplinary approach can bring to the intersection of nature and cultural narratives. It also seeks to explore how literature, media, theory, science, and traditional wisdom engage with and reflect on environmental issues and the unique insights each discipline can offer.
By bringing together students, scholars, experts, activists and practitioners from diverse backgrounds, we aim to deepen our understanding of how different ecological narratives shape our approach to issues threatening the very existence of not just humans but flora and fauna around us. As a hyper keystone species, let us co-create pathways to more sustainable and inclusive solutions that inform our vision and practice, and your participation is crucial in shaping this future.
