The National Entrance Screening Test or NEST is a compulsory online/ computer based test for admission to the five year Integrated M.Sc. programme in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai- Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM- DAE CEBS), Mumbai. NEST 2024 will be conducted in around 115 towns and cities all over India on June 30, 2024.
About the NEST
- Age limit: There is no age limit for appearing in the NEST 2024 examination
- NEST 2024 Examination: Examination will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT/ Online exam)
- Application Fee: Rs.1,400(SC/ ST/ Divyangjan, Female candidates Rs.700).
- Closing of Online application: 31-05-2024
- Download of Admit Card begins: 15-06-2024
- NEST 2024 examination (Session I, II): 30-06-2024
- Announcement of results: 10-07-2024.
Reservation of seats:
- NISER (200 seats): General- 101, General EWS- 0, OBC NCL- 54, SC- 30, ST- 15, Divyangjan- 5% seats in each category.
- CEBS (57 seats): General- 23, General EWS- 6, OBC NCL- 15, SC- 9, ST- 4, Divyangjan- 5% seats in each category.
Eligibility: Candidates must have passed the Class XII (Science stream) examination from any recognised Board in India in the years 2022 or 2023 or should be appearing for the same in 2024. Candidates must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in the class XII examination.
