Concept Note

Literary themes and techniques have been in constant transformation to suit the interdisciplinarity in contemporary academia. Contemporary literature encompasses a broad spectrum of themes that delve into the intricate facets of modern existence, tackling pertinent social, cultural, political, and environmental issues of our time. These themes, such as identity, race, gender, sexuality, globalization, technology, social inequality, mental health, and the environment, provide an exploration of the
intricacies and obstacles faced in navigating the contemporary world. By delving into these themes, contemporary literature offers profound insights into the human experience within the context of present-day society.

Considering literary techniques, contemporary literature embraces a varied range of innovative approaches that defy conventional narrative structures and boldly experiment with form and style. Authors push the boundaries of storytelling by utilizing techniques like nonlinearity, multiple perspectives, metafiction, magical realism, hybrid genres, experimental language, intertextuality, and stream of consciousness. These techniques breathe new life into the literary landscape, inviting
readers to engage with narratives that challenge traditional norms and offer fresh and captivating reading experiences. The speakers, would engage the audience with a range of contemporary literary development. The focus of the FDP is to make participants familiarize with new literary techniques
such as memory studies, disability studies, feminist approaches, food culture and criticism
