About the Workshop

The workshop is being organized for T the social science faculty with the objective of enhancing the capacity of young and budding researchers. While the need and scope for research is enormous largely due to the advancement of methodological tools in contrast to the lack of research capacities, technical know-how and the availability of local pool of skilled researchers. It is believed that the research gap could only be mitigated by conducting such capacity building programmes to fine tune methodological innovations. Therefore, this capacity building workshop is being organized to add value to the ongoing effort towards creation of such a pool of researchers. There is a strong need for conducting such programmes regularly to enhance the research capacity of the faculties and researchers
The proposed capacity building workshop has the following objectives:
- Develop an understanding of social science research methods and its philosophy
- Develop skills to prepare appropriate research proposal, conducting an overview of literature, formulating research questions and hypotheses
- Enhance skills of data collection and analysis using statistical techniques
- Enhance the capacity for planning and writing research paper/books for publications
- To acquaint the participants with the latest developments and trends in the field of Social Science research

Guidelines for the Participants
- The applicants preferably have completed/currently enrolled in a Ph.D. or Post-Doctoral program and working as an Assistant Professor/ Lecturer or having an equivalent position in any recognized university/college in the Social Science discipline
- Before filing the google form the applicants are requested to have a copy of forwarding/NOC from the University/Institute of their employment duly forwarded by their employer latest by November 28, 2023.
- Shortlisted / selected candidates (Total 30) will be intimated by November 30, 2023.
- There is no registration fee and all the out-station participants shall be provided TA (AC 3 Tire in non-premium trains)and accommodation.
- Certificate will be issued to participants after full attendance in the course.
