Climate change and its related issues reported included droughts, floods, hurricanes, severe storms, heat waves, wildfires, cold spells and landslides in the recent past is the starting point in comprehending the current state of climate emergency. A recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report demonstrated that anthropogenic activities have caused about of global warming above the pre-industrial level and this is likely to reach 1.5 °C between 2030 and 2052 if the current emission rates persist. Statistical analysis on global greenhouse gas emissions from natural systems and anthroned and anthropogenic activities stated that the earth’s natural system is a self balancing and any anthropogenic emissions could add extra pressure to the earth system.
The potential for developing synergies between climate change mitigation and adaptation has become a recent focus of both climate research and policy. The broad scope of this webinar Climate Change and Future Challenges. will cast wide information on shrinking glaciers, change in precipitation, rise in sea level, shifting plant and animal ranges and accelerated heat waves. Environmentalists, eminent scientists and researchers will discuss on strategies and environmental tools that can evolve changes and will deliberate the need of political interventions and recommendations for long term environmental management and sustainable ecosystem.
