The objective of the workshop
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the virtual academic engagement is resultant more productive and gives a better outcome. Keeping in view of the immense benefits of the online workshop in the present educational set-up, The VART research in collaboration with the Department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University, Assam, is pleased to offer a One Week Online Research Methodology Workshop for the faculty members, research scholars, researcher and academic fraternity in the country from July 25-31, 2022. The workshop aims to bring together faculties, researchers, and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of
Research Methodologies and data analysis. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, methods, concerns, practical challenges encountered, and solutions adopted in qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis. The workshop is also intended to strengthen scholars, researchers, and faculties in analytical skills by providing a blend of conceptual learning and hands-on practical sessions on statistical software like R, STATA, SPSS, and qualitative data analysis software NVivo & QGIS geospatial data analysis software. These analytical skills help the researcher in their research work and research dissemination
The expected outcome of the workshop
At the end of the workshop, the participants would be able to:
- Understand the different methods of Qualitative and Quantitative research
- Understand the different Sampling Techniques & Sample Size Determination
- Introduction and work on the statistical data analysis software’s like SPSS, STATA, and R
- Introduction and hands-on practice on Qualitative data analysis using NVivo software
- Understand the QGIS geographic information system application that supports viewing, editing, and analysis of geospatial data
- Understanding and knowledge about the dissemination process in a good impact factor peer-reviewed journal
Methodology
The methodology of the workshop will be in virtual mode and comprise:
- Online lecture
- Participatory discussion with Q&A
- Demonstrations
- Exercises and data analysis sessions using SPSS/STATA/R software
- Exercises and data analysis using NVivo & QGIS software
