The objective of this course is to provide an overview of the quantitative & qualitative research methods, assist immersion in specific techniques, and engage the participants with the key debates in the area, including those that argue on the essential unity of the logic of inference across research methods—qualitative as well as quantitative. The workshop will also introduce the participants to the key texts in the area of thematic focus, and introduce them to the approach of qualitative as well as quantitative research methods, specific tools, and techniques of data organization and analysis.

PEDAGOGY OF THE WORKSHOP
Different topics of research methodology shall be taught through different pedagogical tools like lectures, hands-on training on computer software, assignments, designing instrument for data collection and field work for data collection.
ELIGIBILITY
Faculty Members, Research Scholars, PG Scholars and Final year under graduates from any branch of Social Sciences and Commerce may send their application for this Research Methodology Workshop program. The participants should have basic knowledge of Statistics and Computer Application.

About the College
Sree Sankara College envisaged by Swami Agamananda, a social reformer and a foresighted scholar of Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram, Sree Sankara College, Kalady was established with a view to perpetuate the memory and doctrines of the great saint and philosopher, Adi Sankaracharya and to nurture his birth place as a cultural citadel. The foundation stone was laid on 28 August, 1953 by His Highness The Maharaja of Travancore in the presence of The Maharaja of Cochin and several other distinguished personalities. Since then, the college has taken up the cudgels to impart an overall quality education to generate fruitful and responsible citizens. Situated in Kalady, the birthplace of Jagadguru Sankaracharya,this abode of learning embodies a spiritual aura. The lush greenery of the college bestows the campus with a serene and tranquil ambience.
The institution was raised to the status of a First Grade College in 1956. It is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University and is included under sec.2 (f) and 12 (B) of the UGC act, 1956. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council ( NAAC ), a statutory body of the UGC has accredited the college B++ Grade with 2.80 CGPA in the third cycle of accreditation
About the Department
The Commerce Department of Sree Sankara College, Kalady, was formally set up in 1954 under the affiliation of Kerala University, which was thereafter affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. This Department was one among the first commerce department in Ernakulam District. In its history spanning over six decades, it has redefined the commerce education in the state. It is one of the first colleges in Kerala where B.Com Degree course with Cost Accounting as an elective was offered. The Post Graduate course in the commerce department started functioning late 1960s. The research centre of the department got its recognition in the year 1997
