Applications are invited for the Positions of Research Associate (1-One) and Research Assistant (2-Two) on a purely temporary basis under the ICSSR (Special Call) funded Research Project entitled “Religious Deities and Saints/Legends/Heroes Changing Geographic Belongingness and Cultural Economy among the Four Tribal Communities (Chenchus, Kondareddis, Koyas and Lambadi’s) of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh” under Dr Bikku, Assistant Professor at the Department of Liberal Arts, Easwari School of Liberal Arts, SRM University-AP.

Research Associate – Position: 1 (One)
Remuneration/Emoluments: Rs 31,000/-per month.
Essential Qualification: Postgraduate in Anthropology/Sociology/Social Work or any Social Science discipline (55%
minimum) /M.Phil. / Ph.D.)
Desirable: Candidates with fieldwork experience and NET will be given preference.
Duration: 6 Months (After six months, the candidate can join as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (for 2 years) under the project director with a monthly fellowship of Rs 58,000/- along with a House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per University norms for the first year. In the second year, a monthly salary of Rs 61,000/- along
with an HRA if the UPDF publishes two papers in Q1 and/or ABCD- A*/A journals as the first or corresponding author.
(Note: Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is allowed based on the candidate’s performance and the decision of the Dean of Research)
Research Assistant – Position: 2 (Two)
Remuneration/Emoluments: Rs 25,000/- per month
Qualification: Postgraduate in Anthropology/ Sociology/Social Work or any Social Science discipline (55% minimum) /M.Phil. / Ph.D.)
Desirable: Candidates with fieldwork experience and NET will be given preference.
Duration: 6 Months (extendable up to 6 months more, depending upon performance) Or, after the sixth month, the
candidate can join the Ph.D. programme under the project director with a Fellowship of Rs 25,000/-per month (including
food and accommodations).
Note: PhD admission of the candidate is subject to university rules)
- The selected candidate(s) is/are expected to conduct fieldwork among the eight villages of the four tribal communities (Chenchus, Kondareddis, Koyas and Lambadi) in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and also expected to be involved in secondary data collection from the various libraries, literature reviews, data analysis and report writing.
Expenditures such as boarding, food, and travel will be provided during the fieldwork and library visits.
