Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES) Mumbai is a Centre established and supported
by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India (GoI) and is anchored at All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG) Mumbai. It is also the secretariat to Maharashtra Urban WASH & Environmental Sanitation Coalition (Maha-UWES-C), a joint initiative of RCUES, AIILSG Mumbai and UNICEF Maharashtra (https://www.mahawashcoalition.com/). Further, RCUES training and research activities, supported by MoHUA, GoI, focus on urban development missions and programmes across the urban
development sectors. The team member will have a unique opportunity of working as a part of a team at RCUES, with a range of Government as well as non-Government stakeholders involved in the sectors and contributing to collaborative action towards the achievement of common goals.
About the Recruitment
- Post: Project Manager / Technical Expert (Plastic Waste Management)
- Location: Bandra, Mumbai
- Employment details: Appointment will be on a contractual basis (fulltime)

Requirements:
- Qualification: Masters in environment/ infrastructure/ urban planning or development, environmental engineering or equivalent
- At least 5-6 years’ total work experience in Solid (plastic) Waste Management/ Environment/ Climate Change / Circularity / Sustainability, including 2 to 3 years’ experience of project management.
- Experience of working with the State / Local Governments under Urban Development Missions/Programmes/ Schemes is necessary.
- Good analytical and presentation skills as well as report writing skills are necessary.
- Good communication skills in English (written and oral) are necessary and in Marathi (written and oral) are preferred.
- Preference may be given to the candidates who have worked in above mentioned sectors with the
- Government of Maharashtra, Urban Local Bodies and Development Organizations.
- A team player who is adaptable, self-motivated and result oriented.
- Work Profile/ Key Responsibilities:
- Working in close coordination with Sr. Executive Director, AIILSG Mumbai.
- Working closely with the State and Local Governments.
- Managing and monitoring a team for implementing projects, ensuring project deliverables and timeline
- Working on development of new project proposals/ToRs/ budgets
- Working on knowledge management, making reports / presentations as per the need of the projects / clients/ partners
- Undertaking visits to cities and towns to conduct meetings with commissioners/chief officers and for local level assessment, action research and handholding support to Urban Local Bodies etc.
- Working with partner organizations to implement projects.
- Working on capacity building activities including module development, delivery of sessions, planning of training programmes etc.
- Working on partnership building activities including events, workshops, meetings etc.
- Undertaking any other work required to achieve the desired output under the project.
