Senior Lead – ERP Data Expert
Experienced Enterprise Business Systems professional. Responsible for managing or performing work associated with digital business analysis.
- Responsible for building and managing a set of metadata and quality control capabilities to ensure that:
- Systems of record are fit for purpose.
- Data is well defined and fully understood; risks in the data landscape are identified and managed.
- Data can be consumed with confidence in their quality, integrity, and lineage.
- The organization has confidence in the data available.
- Emphasis is given to the most mission-critical data, based on risk and value.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works with Enterprise Data Stewards and Councils to define data quality standards and metrics to drive continuous improvement in data quality.
- Responsible for establishing consistent global data definitions, ensuring integrity of data and monitoring/auditing overall quality of data per established policies.
- Co-Lead implementation of active data governance and data quality system controls together with Enterprise Data Stewards.
- Collaborate with the Application team, Data Analyst & Remediation Team to understand domain-specific data quality issues.
- Assess, design, and implement internal control frameworks around data management, data governance and data quality within complex system landscapes.
- Support data quality agenda supporting Senior Reg Capital Leaders for scope, definition, prioritization, and resolution of data quality issues.
- Data quality subject matter expert (SME), providing quality monitoring and audit support for Enterprise Data Stewards (EDS).
- Responsible for defining and documenting security rules for data classification and registration for both structured and unstructured data.
- Collaborates with IT Enterprise Architecture and Data quality solution teams to develop recommendations for procedural and system controls supported by suitable data architectural improvements.
- Establish a framework for the identification, evaluation, certification, and escalation of systems of record and trusted copies of data.
- Work with project representatives to identify reference data needs to evaluate potential reference data sources and ensure integrity and consistency of usage.
- Build on the existing business glossaries, working with business analysts and other stakeholders to establish concise, understandable definitions that accurately reflect the business purpose and resonate with the various consumers.
- Work with business analysts and solution designers to facilitate the capture of metadata as core change and operational deliverables; Oversee the maintenance of metadata artefacts, reporting and escalating where appropriate, resolving issues, gaps, and inconsistencies.
Experience:
Essential:
- Extensive practical experience as a Metadata and Data Quality Manager.
- Successfully implemented metadata management measures in the context of delivering quantifiable improvements.
- Current working knowledge of industry best practice eg DAMA/EDM.
- Knowledge and experience of implementing and working with metadata and data quality technologies.
- Understanding and experience of logical data modelling and data normalization.
- Held a similar role in a Manufacturing, Financial supporting global organization.
- Managed teams that are a mixture of direct and indirect reporting.
- Preparing and chairing meetings attended by senior stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Significant process and control skills
Nice to have:
- Working knowledge on tools like Informatica Power Center, Talend, MySQL Workbench, SQL Developer, Data Profiling and Analysis, Data Cleansing
- Exposure in working with MDG9.0/9.1/9.2 on SAP S4HANA is preferable.
- Exposure in working with Data Warehouse like Snowflake is preferable.
- Exposure in working with ETL/MDM tool like Boomi is preferable.
- Ability to think strategically while operating tactically to implement global data standards and global technical/process solutions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Snowflake certification preferred.
