About the Institution
MAHARASHTRA INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION LIMITED (A GOVERNMENT OF MAHARASHTRA ENTERPRISE) – Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation Ltd. (MahaIT), a company wholly owned by the Government of Maharashtra. It was established under the Companies Act in October, 2016 to function as the nodal agency for planning, designing, implementing and operating various ICT projects in the State. MahaIT has undertaken various e-Gov projects like Safe and Smart City project Nagpur, Mumbai Wi-Fi project and DBT & Services Portal etc., and aims to initiate Information Technology (IT) and IT enabled services (ITES) for the State focusing on developing a Pan State Enterprise Architecture. With this company at the helm, the plan is to consolidate all the existing databases, to have a single e-enterprise databases and to accelerate the other e-Gov initiatives under Digital India.
