In our Project “Sustainable Mental Health Inside Prison” as a Social Worker you will work towards addressing the unique mental health challenges faced by incarcerated individuals.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Provision of legal aid services, medical aid, regular counselling support, plan and implement rehabilitation, coordination with stakeholders, overall case management and documentation.
- Work closely with the community in Jehanabad, Bihar, to implement mental health initiatives and link them to various government schemes.
About the Recruitment
- Designation: Social Worker.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a similar field will be given preference.
- Qualifications: The applicant must have a post-graduation in Social Work (Preference is given to specializations in Social Work with Mental Health or Counseling or Children and Family).
- Remuneration: INR 35,000/- per month and Travel Expenses.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular interactions with the custodial population with special focus on women prisoners to facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, activities to facilitate education, skill development and develop preventive mental health interventions including recreation within the prison environment.
- Organise and lead awareness sessions and programs for the custodial population inside the prison and liaison with government stakeholders to conduct training and capacity-building programs for jail authorities to secure the rights of prisoners.
- Conducting regular community visits to enhance the overall mental health, well-being, and awareness in the community. Undertake home visits (rural and urban parts of Bihar) to work with prisoners’ families on their social entitlement rights and to prepare post-release reintegration plans for the custodial population.
- Documentation of project report, intervention narrative, case studies, and other documentary compliances.
Location: Patna and Jehanabad District of Bihar.
Required Skills:
- The applicant must be able to Speak, Read and Write in English and in Hindi.
- The candidate should be flexible in frequent travel to rural areas for field visits.
- The candidate should be proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Canva.
