Job Profile:

Research professional with this designation is expected to is to provide research support to current and future TERI projects, and to support the development of new projects. The professional is expected to play an active role in identifying further research prospects relevant to TERI’s research interests and developing them into research proposals and projects. The professional is expected to contribute to the lead/submission of grant proposals and the publication of high-quality research papers. Fellow may report to PI/AC/Director as per requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualization and Proposal Development: Conceptualize and develop proposals for significant research projects aimed at advancing knowledge, understanding, and the discovery of new explanations, insights, concepts, and processes.
  • Research Execution and Publication: Lead the execution of research projects, interpret findings, generate high-quality publications, and disseminate results through appropriate media channels.
  • Contribution to Research Strategy: Contribute to the development of research strategies within the Division to align with organizational objectives.
  • Project Reporting and Presentation: Prepare project reports and deliver presentations to research groups, steering groups, etc., particularly progress reports, and oversee similar activities of research assistants when appropriate.
  • Funding Source Identification and Application Leadership: Identify sources of funding and lead the application process to secure research grants and funding opportunities.
  • Research Team Planning: Lead the planning process of the research team, including generating ideas for investment and application to advance research objectives.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Undertake continuous personal and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills within the subject area.

Academic Background:

M. Sc/ Ph.D. in Agriculture/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Forestry/Rural Management or equivalent degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing, leading, and executing research projects.
  • Proven track record of generating high-quality publications and disseminating research findings.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to mentor and support colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify funding sources and lead the application process.
  • Strong networking abilities and the capacity to build internal and external relationships.
  • Previous experience in counseling or mentorship roles is desirable.
