The International Cooperative University India (ICUI) provides a fellowship for the Promotion of interdisciplinary cooperation of epistemologies (FPICE) carries out programs that provide researchers who have an excellent record of research achievements with an opportunity to conduct collaborative research, discussions, and opinion exchanges with researchers in ICUI. These programs are intended to help advance the researchers’ research activities while promoting science of Ayurveda and cooperation of epistemologies.

Fellowship periods and amount

  • Fellowship period: 10-10-2023 to 10-01-2024
    • (a) For PhD holders: Rs.30,000 per month
    • (b)For non-PhD holders (BAMS/MD): Rs.25,000 permonth

PURPOSES

To provide opportunities for young and excellent pre-/post-doctoral researchers from the India to conduct, research and training under the guidance of experts in ICUI, cooperative research with leading research groups in universities and other Indigenous institutions or communities. In so doing, the program is designed to help and advance the research of the fellows, while expanding opportunities for young researchers to interact with experts working in epistemic pluralism to generate an ethical space for integrating indigenous and traditional health knowledge systems with conventional systems of medicines for providing one health solutions.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

  • a) Mandatory Qualifications
    • The applicant must be a graduate in Ayurveda, in principle, be a researcher who is willing to work under ICUI knowledge ecosystems which integrates Ayurveda with pluralistic epistemologies
  • b)Requirements/Desirable skills
    • Content Generation: As a fellow in FPICE program , you will have the opportunity to work to generate diverse content pertaining to cooperative medicine projects. This involves creating educational materials, articles, and multimedia content to disseminate knowledge to a wider audience.
    • Social Media and Digital Media Skills: In today’s digital landscape, relevance of working with social media and digital media is indispensable. FPICE program offers comprehensive training to enable you to effectively manage social media platforms and create digital content.
    • Project Report Book Development: You will be engaged in the framing and development of project report books, refining your ability to document research findings and cooperative healthcare practices.
    • Research Proposal Conceptualization: As a fellow, you will actively participate in the conceptualization of research proposals, fostering your research skills and contributing to advancements in cooperative medicine.
    • Collaborative Engagement: Your role will include facilitating communication among different collaborators involved in projects, promoting a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to healthcare.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR FPICE FELLOWSHIP

b) Any other certificates to justify the claims in research experience, training undergone or workshops attended

SELECTION PROCESS AND NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS

  • Screening is carried out by ICUI’s selection committee through both document and panel reviews.
  • Notification of selection results:
    • ① Notification of the selection results will be made in electronic mail to the candidate around the following periods: October 5, 2023–October 9, 2023
    • ② Acceptance documents will be sent to the successful candidates by electronic mail.
    • ③ Unsuccessful candidates are directly notified of their selection results by electronic mail.

OBLIGATION OF THE FELLOW (INCLUDING MEASURES AGAINST MISCONDUCT AND MISUSE OF INFORMATION)

(1) Candidates who are applying for the FPICE program, and should observe them if selected for a fellowship. After selection, they will be expected to observe the regulations and procedures stipulated in the Program Guidelines for the FPICE Program. If the fellow should fail to do so, the fellowship may be withdrawn and already paid grants will be reclaimed.
So as to allow the smooth progress of the fellow’s research in ICUI, before submitting an application, the host researcher shall fully inform the candidate of conditions at the host laboratory, including his/her status under the fellowship, and will ascertain the candidate’s acknowledgement to accept those conditions.
(2) The ICUI will, in cooperation with the administration office of the ICUI, provide a suitable arrangement for the fellow to pursue his/her joint research and other research activities. The ICUI expert panel will also assist the fellow, when needed, with knowledge acquisition and processing.
(3) During fellowship tenures, the researcher is advised not to commit such acts of discrimination or abuse with regard to his/her fellow, and should be particularly careful of what s/he says or does cannot be interpreted as committing such acts.
(4) During their tenures, fellows shall not, either in or outside the host institution, infringe in any way on the human rights of others, including racial or gender discrimination or other forms of abuse.
(5) As a rule, fellows shall stay in India continuously during the t enure of their fellowships and concentrate on their research at the ICUI. Fellows are allowed to engage in other work, neither paid nor unpaid, during their tenures.
(6) The researchers and fellows shall follow the rules established by the ICUI and FPICE prohibiting acts of research misconduct, e.g., fabricating or falsifying research results.
(7) The fellow and researcher must submit a research report using separately prescribed format.
(8) For FPICE fellows, when presenting or publishing the content or results of research conducted under the fellowship, the FPICE program ICUI should be acknowledged.
(9) The institution shall inform the researcher and the fellow about the rules that it and ICUI have established to prevent research misconduct and misuse of research funds and of the penalties for violations.
(10) The ICUI shall take first responsibility for the fellow’s actions, so must be proactive in preventing any discrimination, misconduct or misuse on the part of the fellow during his/her tenure. If any such problems should occur, the host institution will endeavor to resolve them through joint meetings or by legal means

HANDLING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

With regard to personal information contained in application materials, it shall be strictly controlled in accordance with the “Law to Protect Personal Information Held by Independent Administrative Institutions” and ICUI’s own regulations for protecting personal information. FPICE will use such information exclusively for implementing its programs.(This may involve the provision of personal information to external companies commissioned to electronically process and manage program-related data.)If selected for a fellowship, fellows should note that their name, title, affiliated organization and country; research theme, institution, researcher’s name and title; and research reports may be given public access. Fellows are also asked to participate in surveys aimed at improving FPICE programs.IPR AGREEMENTS, NDA & NCAAs per the ICUI’s IPR policy. ICUI’s IPR policies will be provided at the time of the FPICE award declaration.
