Project Overview:
Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi is currently undertaking a Sustainable Tribal Livelihood Project in 18 villages of Gadchiroli and Chandrapur district in Maharashtra. The program engages with the small and marginal farmer households living in places highly vulnerable to climate change. Therefore, the project aims to enhance the adaptive capacities of small farmers to climate change and social shocks, improve livelihoods, and strengthen community institutions for effective promotion and support of livelihood activities.
The primary focus of the project is to build capacities of the community-based institutions, enhance the adaptive capacities of the community, diversification of livelihood, and income enhancement with the sustainable management of natural resources inclusive of gender. To achieve this, it gets into convergence with the government programs and safety net.
Position Responsibilities: As the Livelihood Expert, you will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the project.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overall Project Coordination:
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the project.
- Ensure the project aligns with the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Project Management:
- Manage day-to-day operations and activities of the project.
- Conduct monitoring visits to project areas and guide cluster coordinators and cadres.
- Capacity Building:
- Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions at the district level.
- Participate in community training programs as a resource person.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain linkages with various stakeholders, including government officials, market players, and district-level Panchayats.
- Advocate for the project at the district level
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure project-level documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Report regularly to the organization and submit accounts at specified intervals.
- Communication and Liaison:
- Liaise with the head office, director, and accountant.
- Facilitate monthly staff planning and review meetings.
- Performance Appraisal:
- Conduct performance appraisals for cluster coordinators.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in livelihood development or related field.
- Master’s degree in Agriculture/Social Work/Natural Resource Management/Development
- Demonstrated experience in community empowerment and sustainable livelihood
projects. - Knowledge of MS Office, Data Analysis
- Fluency in English, Hindi, Marathi
