About Catalysts for Social Action:

Catalysts for Social Action is an Indian non-profit organisation committed to improving the lives of children in Child Care Institutions (CCl) and those who leave CCls once they turn 18 (care leavers’). We aim to create a nation where vulnerable children receive need-based care, protection, and opportunities to grow up to be rehabilitated and reintegrated with the society. Through our programs, we collaborate with government and non-government stakeholders to support children and care leavers towards their rehabilitation and social reintegration. CSA at present works with more than 110 CCIs in 4 states to provide better care and rehabilitative services to children, and over the last 5 years has supported more than 1500 care leavers.

Role requirements:

CSA is starting a project on Family Strengthening in the Mumbai region, and is looking for committed individuals to be part of the team which will implement the project. This project involves working with
identified families facing difficult situations to provide them with need-based support and opportunities such that their capacities are enhanced and they can meet the needs of their children.
The position presents a fantastic opportunity for candidates to acquire first-hand experience in working with children and families in the community. We are looking for individuals with a genuine passion for closely engaging with children and families in difficult situations, and working on strengthening family-
based care services. The chosen candidate will take on the responsibility of managing individual cases, focusing on family’s needs and overall case management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Undertaking home visits, conducting required assessments, and preparing reports including
    Social Investigation Report, Home Study Report, Child Study Report and other reports as necessary.
  2. Organize family meetings, group meetings or any other support meetings to make a comprehensive plan for each family.
  3. Maintaining case files and documentation of all families in the program.
  4. Collaboration and liaison with local child protection authorities and allied service providers for providing service and assistance to families.
    Facilitating linkages and coordinating with stakeholders and service providers to enable children and families access schemes of the state and central govt.
  5. Performing any other functions/tasks required to effectively implement the work and fulfill the objective of the project.
  6. Documenting case studies and other record keeping, assisting in case management of the children.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work with minimum 2 years’ work experience with a field-based organization or a master’s degree in social work.
  • Experience of working in the space of Child Protection and/or Juvenile Justice is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Marathi (spoken and written) and good knowledge of English (written) is necessary.

Salary:

The salary offered is competitive and will be determined based on industry standards, qualifications, and
the candidate’s level of experience.
