Call for Papers- Concept Note

Democracy and diversity are key aspects in liberal democracies globally and in this context, both India and Europe are important entities where one can experience deeply embedded values for democracy and diversity that are constitutionally-legally institutionalised. It is essential in the promotion of
democratic values, the management of socio-cultural diversity and the upholding of related norms, structures and patterns, all of which are crucial in sustaining and strengthening Indian and European
democracies, which are becoming increasingly diverse, and are striving to be inclusive. The constitutionally guaranteed values for democracy and diversity have provided a space for peace, prosperity and cooperation in both India and Europe. The values of democracy and diversity can be
more extensive when both are representative and participative in India and Europe, and these values must promote and establish a culture that is accepted by diverse sections of society in both locations.

In this globalised world, there are multiple hybrid threats and complex challenges that have potential capability to harm democracy and diversity. In this case, illegal migration, refugee crisis, terrorism,
organised crime, extremism and riots can be identified as threats. This situation also provides an opportunity for both India and Europe to cooperate and develop new mechanism and policies to strengthen rule based democracy and shared culture of diversity and curb threats. Commonly India and Europe, in this context, re-think on solidarity, inclusive, innovative multicultural reflective societies.

The objective of this conference is a comparative study of democracy and diversity in India and Europe. This platform will provide opportunity to scholars, academicians and related subject experts
to share their views, ideas and new findings through their research papers. This one day international conference will be beneficial for college and university students to interact and engage with experts, scholars and academicians. This will help students and young researchers to improve their understanding of contemporary issues in both India and Europe.
