The “One day Online International Seminar on Research and Library Services” aims at bringing together academicians, researches, Students and Library professionals to gain and share their knowledge and experience regarding research and library services. Since last two decades the education system is rapidly changing, we all are witness of the same. Traditional teaching and learning methodologies have gradually changed towards online mode and therefore the library services as well. Research plays a vital role in higher education which has a national and international significance. Libraries are the basic and original information source for researchers from decades. Role of Libraries are very important in research process. Librarian’s role along with the change in technology has been changed a lot. Various new research tools and techniques are available in online educational environment but to make its effective use and give the best solution to save the time of library user is need of the hour. Keeping these things in mind we have organized this one day Online International seminar to cater the research needs of teachers, students as well as library professionals across the world.

Akhil Bharatiy Maratha Shikshan Parishad :
Akhil Bhartiya Maratha Shikshan Parishad Pune is an offshoot of the reformist thoughts initiated spread by the great revolutionaries like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Shahu Maharaj and Shrimant Sayajiraje Gaikwad of Baroda. Our sanstha is the oldest educational institute founded in the first decade of the 20th century i.e. in the year 1907. It is undoubtedly the ‘Mother Institute’ of many other educational institutes in Maharshtra India. The Parishad is formed with the able efforts by various socialreformists, revolutionaries and intellectuals. A.B.M.S. Parishad’s aims at educating the masses and spreading the education among those who have been deprived of it for generations. Our various institutes are established since then which includes education from Preprimary to Doctorate degrees.
Shri Shahu Mandir Mahavidyalaya, Pune: Shri Shahu Mandir Mahavidyalaya, established in 1960, is one of the attempts of the A.B.M.S. Parishad to take education to the masses. It is one of the several educational units of the A.B.M.S. Parishad spread all over Maharashtra. Students from lower stratum of society and rural background are our main target group. We try to provide quality education to the students who are socially, economically and academically backward, as a result of which even a student of average intellect gather sufficient confidence to meet the demands of the world by the end of his/her graduation. The college offers degree courses in B.A., B.Com., BBA, BBA (CA)., Post-graduation in Commerce, English, Marathi, & Economics, Doctorate degree in Commerce and Short Term skilled based Courses. The College is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. The college has NCC, NSS, a competitive examination center, central library, two computer laboratories, Commerce computer laboratory, language laboratory, Vidyarthini Manch, Adult, Continuing Education and Extension department, Extra Mural Board, Literary Association, Gymkhana, hostels, canteen, welfare schemes, earn & learn scheme etc. The College campus is spread over a vast area of 67 acres and has a very beautiful and picturesque campus covered with a large number of trees which provide shade, beauty and a very invigorating environment for serious studies.
Knowledge Resource Center (Library): ‘Library’ is Heart of any educational institute. It plays a vital role in the education of students from all aspects. A.B.M.S.P’s Shri shahu Mandir Mahavidyalaya has a separate library building, which was inaugurated in 1988 by the hands of contemporaneous Minister Vasantdada Patil. It has two separate reading halls for Girl and Boys respectively. Fully automated Library, Separate PG, Reference Section, Digital Library, Wi-Fi zone are the important features of library. It has very rich (55000 Books and 70 journals), bound volumes and rare collection of books and periodicals, which is now moving towards the digital environment gradually. Library is situated in the mid of college Campus and Library building is extended in 2014 by adding third floor. All the Library staff is well trained and skilled. NAAC committee visit during third NAAC cycle appreciated the library services and special user section of library with highest score. More details-https://www.shahucollegepune.org/
