Call for Papers

Prospective authors are invited to submit original research papers for presentation at the seminar. The two-day national seminar brings together keynote speakers, delegates from academia and industry, panel members, research scholars, and students to shape the conversation on the role of media and the judiciary in the protection of democracy.


Research paper submissions are invited (but not limited) to the following themes and sub themes:

  • Parliamentary proceedings: Awareness among the public.
  • Media’s role in reporting proceedings of legislature and the court.
  • Judicial activism in India.
  • Social media and privacy issues


  • Reporting legislature: The new trends.
  • Framing and positioning in the media
  • Reviewing the court verdicts
  • Moral and ethical issues of trolls
  • Proliferation of fake news
  • Relevance of the question hour Technology, a bane or boon to a journalist?
  • Peeping Tom culture in social media Reporting of the business hour in the legislatures
  • President’s role in good democratic governance
  • Media criticism of judgments and judges
  • Public Interest Litigation (PIL)
  • Human rights and media
  • Digital classification in new media
  • The Zero hour impact
  • Private members bills – a mere customary exercise?
  • Media role in restraining harmful exposure of controversial issues
  • Stereotyping the minorities and the subaltern population
  • Parliamentary debates: Route to redefining/ amending constitution
  • Paid news and advertorials


  • Paper/Article must be related to the theme of the seminar.
  • Submission of manuscript should be typewritten in English in Word Doc only. No other format will be accepted.
  • Paper/Article format: Single column, A4 size, 1.5-line spacing, Font style & size: Times New Roman, heading (size 14), body (size 12)
  • Word Limit: Total word limit for each Paper/Article should be of minimum5000-8000 words including references. First page title, author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s) with contact number and Email id.
  • Second Page – Title, abstract (between 200-300 words), keywords (5) followed by main text (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion & References)

  • Deadline for abstract submission: 30 November 2022
  • Intimation of acceptance : 03 December 2022
  • Submission of full-paper & PPT : 11 December, 2022
