Children’s Literature is no longer a mere discipline, but has evolved into a discourse that elicits much multidimensional debate. Owing to the changing landscape of global politics, the post Covid trauma and the sudden migration to the digital world, experts and researchers are now focusing more on children and their issues. We hope to bring together scholars, researchers and practitioners to engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas and insights that will open up new avenues of learning and understanding Children’s Literature.

This seminar is aimed at bringing together scholars, researchers, and practitioners working in the field of Children’s Literature to engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas and insights. We hope this event serves as a platform for interdisciplinary discussions and collaboration, fostering a vibrant intellectual community.

Call for Papers

We invite teachers, research scholars and students to send their abstracts, adhering to the MLA 9th edition format, not exceeding 300 words along with a short bio-note not exceeding 100 words by 21st of January, 2024.

Dr Khyrunnisa ATitle of the Talk : ‘ A Grimm World: Violence and Supernaturalism in Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales’.
Khyrunnisa A. is an Indian author of children’s fiction, speaker, academic and columnist who also writes for adults. She created the comic book character ‘Butterfingers’. The character first appeared in the Indian children’s magazine Tinkle

Dr. Nandini Nayar – Title of the Talk : Writing for Children in India

Nandini Nayar is the award-winning author of over 60books for children of all ages. She is India’s most prolificchildren’s writer, with books published by well-knownIndian publishers. What Shall I Make? was named anoutstanding book by the United States Board on Books forYoung Readers. Pranav’s Picture, What Shall I Make?,Guddu’s Photo and The House of Fourteen Cats feature inthe list of books recommended by the Central Board ofSecondary Education (CBSE). What Shall I Make? andWhat Did You See? feature in 101 Indian Children’s BooksWe Love (Zubaan). Two of her books have been on theParag Honour List, Mini’s Questions in 2021 andSometimes Mama, Sometimes Papa in 2022.

Mr. Harisankar A.V, is the Editor-in-Charge of Children’s Division, MM Publications. He has been part of MM publications group for the last four decades. He has published a few books for children, and translated some books which include ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, ‘Dracula’, a couple of Chetan Bhagat novels, and so on.
