  • The top 5 entries shall receive the certificate of appreciation common for both Faculty /Students
  • A certificate of participation shall be issued to all the participants on successful submission
  • Date of Result Announcement: 7th/July/2023

The objective of this Day is to create public awareness, especially in the younger generation for drawing inspiration from Professor (late) Mahalanobis about the role and importance of statistics in socio-economic planning and policy formulation.“Statistics Day” To be celebrated on 29th June, 2023

ELIGIBILITY: All undergraduate and postgraduate students, teachers, research scholars from a recognized school, Colleges/Universities are eligible to participate in the competition. (Co-authorship is allowed)

Details of the Event

In recognition of the notable contributions made by Professor (late) Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis in the fields of statistics and economic planning, Government of India has designated 29th June every year, coinciding with his birth anniversary, as “Statistics Day” in the category of Special Days to be celebrated at the national level. The objective of this Day is to create public awareness, especially in the younger generation for drawing inspiration from Professor (late) Mahalanobis about the role and importance of statistics in socio-economic planning and policy formulation.“Statistics Day” To be celebrated on 29th June, 2023

Competition Submission Guidelines

  • Submission in  any of the format word/PPT/PDF is acceptable.
  • Multiple Submission is Permitted 
  • Group of Max Two Author Permitted 
  • Basic Details: Name, Email, Contact Number & College Name & Topic Name must be mentioned in the submission article.
  • We prefer your views be 300 to 600 words in length. Longer views will be accepted if the length is necessary to convey the ideas.
  • Points of View that are well-written, interesting to our broad audience, relevant to one of our topic areas, and informative rather than promotional will be given first consideration.
  • The Point of View should present information such that it leaves the reader satisfied at having learned something new.
