International Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focuses on educating and bringing awareness to the faculty members on the 17 SDGs and their application in academia. This program introduces participants about the goals and their significance, offering insights into integrating SDGs into curricula across various disciplines. Faculty members learn about the innovative methods, research opportunities, and strategies for community engagement to promote sustainability. The program also connects with the resources and tools to support the integration of SDGs into their teaching, research, and outreach activities. Participants can network with peers and experts, fostering potential collaborations and partnerships for impactful initiatives. Through this FDP on SDGs, faculty gain knowledge and skills to advance sustainable practices in their institution and community. This Faculty Development Program alignsand aims to promote educational advancement in support of environmental preservation, job creation, improved education, and expanded social protection for everyone.

Objectives of FDP

• To promote lifelong and equitable quality education to increase employment opportunities for younger people
• To ensure gender equity, healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages
• To adopt innovation, evidence based action for water management and sanitation
• To elevate technological capabilities and enrich biodiversity in favour of fostering sustainable energy sources
• To attain food security and enhance nutritional standards through concerted efforts

About TNTEU

The Government of Tamil Nadu enacted Act No. 33 of 2008 to provide for the establishment and incorporation of Teachers Education University in the State of TamilNadu. The Act came into effect from 01/07/2008 by a Gazette Notification issued in G.O.M.S.256, Higher Education (K2) Department, dated 25/06/2008. TamilNadu Teachers Education University is a State University located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, which specializes in Teachers’ Education. As on 2012, 665 Colleges that are offering Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Degree Courses, are Affiliated with the University Some of these affiliated colleges are also offering Master of education (M.Ed.).The University is accredited with NAAC ‘A’ grade by UGC. The Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University has signed many memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Government schools as well as B.Ed colleges to help the school children for their upliftment.

About Department of Pedagogical Sciences, TNTEU

The field of Pedagogical Sciences, which is also known as education sciences or education studies, encompasses the study of education and the processes involved in Teaching and Learning. The Department of Pedagogical Sciences explores the various aspects of education, including educational theories, methods, policies, and practices. Prof.P.C.Naga Subramani is the Head of the Department of Pedagogical Sciences, in TNTEU. In the Dept. of Pedagogical Sciences, So far, 45 Ph.D Scholars are Awarded Ph.D.in Education The Department has Conducted many National Level Conferences, Workshops and International Conferences both in India and Abroad. Recently,the Department has Organised two International conferences in collaboration with Eastern University of Srilanka and with University of Technology Malaysia. The, Ph.D scholars of this Department are much exposed to Research innovation

About the Faculty of Education

To promote improvements in the quality and usefulness of education, The Faculty of Education was established in 2005 by Dr.M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute,Maduravoyal, Chennai-95, Tamil Nadu, India. It is a Co-Educational Institution offering two years B.Ed. Program with an aim to achieve professional values and to develop learning skills among the teacher educators by generating 4Cs- Curiosity, Creativity, Competence and Compassion in order to supplement and complement NCTE. For more than a decade i.e. from 2005 – 2023 the Faculty of Education has been producing 100% results and 100% placement. The dedicated team of staff fosters individual growth and also awakens a keen desire in their students to make positive contribution to the society and the world at large.
