About the Speaker

Amitabh Kant is presently India’s G20 Sherpa. He is an Indian bureaucrat and the former chief executive officer of NITI Aayog, a public policy think tank of the Government of India. He is a retired member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the central civil service of the Government of India.

Kant served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism from 2001 to 2007, where he launched the ‘Incredible India’ and ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ campaigns. As Secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, he spearheaded initiatives like “Make in India,” “Start Up India,” and “Ease of Doing Business.” From 2016 to 2022, he was CEO of NITI Aayog, overseeing COVID-19 management, asset monetization, and the Aspirational Districts Programme. Kant also promoted national projects in transformative mobility and natural farming methods.
