In the grand quest that humankind has undertaken ever since the dawn of the thinking faculty a panoramic pageant of which is presented by history, the contribution of Hinduism has been by all standards the most distinctive and noble. Sanatana dharma, evolved and perfected by the Atmajnani Guru Paramparas of ancient India, constitutes the foundation of Hinduism. In its long course of existence, it has flowed down through varied tributaries nurtured and nourished by great Gurus and Acharyas who took birth at intervening periods in Indian history. Hinduism has provided such ideas and ideals, beliefs and practices, rites and rituals which have inherent vitality to survive in spite of all odds, and which still continue to provide life sap to its adherents and votaries all over the world. However, with the passage of time, the fundamental spiritual and philosophical premises of Hinduism have not been transmitted conforming to the dharma of the present time. Therefore, the faiths, practices, and worship systems that have been fossilized with the passage of time are to be cleansed and transformed in accordance with the spirit of the present Yuga to achieve sustainable material development and spiritual enhancement of the people. It is one of the major challenges that Hinduism faces today.
