Job Description
This is an advocacy and communications strategy position that focuses on informing and influencing
policy makers and enablers to create a fostering climate for entrepreneurship with significant focus
on small businesses. The person is expected to develop and coordinate the execution of advocacy
and communications strategies at the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Economic Development.
An ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in public policy, economics, development or a
related field with exceptional knowledge, experience and expertise in advocacy and communications
related to entrepreneurship or related domains, policies and new models/innovations.
- The position is based in the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CEED) at
Pune, India. - The person is expected to have an understanding of key issues concerning entrepreneurship,
especially small MSME’s in India. - The Centre is engaged in primary, applied & policy research and advocacy. The person will
participate in these activities with a primary focus on understanding the research conducted
to develop information dissemination strategies and drive advocacy. - The person is expected to engage Indian policymakers across multiple ministries,
highlighting the importance of reforms to improve the business environment to allow for
faster creation of jobs in India- with a focus on small businesses. - The person is expected to have experience or proven ability in engaging with government
partners, academic institutes, NGOs, private sector, business leaders, think tanks, trade
associations, regulators, business journalists, media and professional associations, with an
existing network of policymakers and policy influencers that can be inducted into this work. - The person will organize events such as round tables, stakeholder consultations, panel
discussions, conferences, etc to build public awareness around policy reform objectives and
increase visibility of CEED. - The person will drive social media strategy and implementation to disseminate research
insights and create awareness, publicity and collaboration opportunities that support the
goals of CEED. - The person should be able to provide vision and influence others in a constructive and
optimistic manner, while building and sustaining collaborative relationships and work with
flexibility and diplomacy. - Outstanding project and team management skills including being able to lead teams from
communications and information dissemination strategy development through execution.

Job Description
This is a research position. The person is expected to engage in research work at the Centre for
Entrepreneurship & Economic Development.
An ideal candidate will have a PhD in Economics with research and teaching work experience in
Economics, ideally with a focus and interest on any aspect of Entrepreneurship. Eligibility as a PhD
guide will be an advantage, as the Centre proposes to take PhD students.
- The position is based at the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CEED) at
Pune, India. - The Centre is engaged in primary, applied & policy research and advocacy. The person will
participate in these activities with a primary focus on research. - The person is expected to contribute in identifying research projects, applying for grants,
and planning and executing the projects. - The person is expected to drive research projects and field work, that may necessitate travel
to different parts of the country. - The Centre proposes to conduct workshops, conferences, round table discussions, and offer
Summer School programs for capacity building. The candidate will assist in these activities. - The person is expected to publish their work as research articles in journals of repute and
present at conferences and other forums. - The person is expected to develop policymaker-friendly materials such as briefs, executive
summaries, study summaries, presentations, blogs, conference abstracts and other reports
for databases, internal tracking, website content and external channels, and is encouraged
to publish in colloquial media, in English and Indian languages. - The Centre proposes to offer credit and non-credit courses for UG and PG programs. The
person will need to assist in formulating the curriculum and evaluating such courses. - Besides research, the person is expected to assist in administrative work of the Centre and
may have to carry out some teaching responsibilities. However, this will not be a significant
portion of the workload.

Job Description:
The Communications Assistant is expected to support the outreach efforts of the Centre while
working alongside Communications Officer. The person is expected to closely work with the CEED
team, collaborating with external stakeholders, and promoting the Centre’s activities to a wider
audience by various means such as social media, website, events and other activities.
Responsibilities:
- Outreach and Communication
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to promote the Research Centre’s activities to
various stakeholders, including academic institutions, government agencies, industry partners, and the general public. - Create content for the website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication
channels to highlight research achievements, events, and opportunities.

- Assist in organizing workshops, conferences, seminars, and other events related to the research
areas, ensuring smooth logistical arrangements and participant engagement. - Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for events.

- Knowledge Dissemination
- Assist in the preparation of research publications and reports to communicate research findings
and insights. - Support the organization of webinars, lectures, etc. to disseminate research outcomes beyond

- Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative assistance to the Research Centre’s team, including scheduling meetings,
organizing travel arrangements, managing databases, and maintaining documentation. - Carry out general office tasks, such as answering emails, handling inquiries, and maintaining
records.
