Chair: Dr. Chitralekha Biswas, Dr. Chitralekha Biswas, Assistant professor, Department of English, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL) College, Kolkata, has completed her Ph.D. from Jadavpur University focusing on Raj writing. Her scholarly pursuits extend to diverse areas such as Bengali Theatre, Courtesan Narratives, Empire Writing and Travel Narratives with a specific focus on the Memsahib visiting India between (1857-1947), Shikar narratives of Sahibs visiting India during the colonial period, Feminism, Victorian Literature, Humanities (English), Communicative English and Soft Skills.

About Chrysalis III

Chrysalis provides a platform for scholars to present their research and deliberations. generate intellectual and productive

Chrysalis I (2021-2022) hosted 15 Paper Presentations and 4 Invited Lectures online. Chrysalis II (2022-2023) hosted 3 Paper Presentations, 4 Invited Lectures and a Panel Discussion online. The third edition, Chrysalis III (2023-2024) is envisaged to continue the tradition with added events.

Following Chrysalis I and II, Chrysalis III too commemorates the treasured contributions of eminent (late) teachers of the Department: Rev. Fr. Antony Kuttikkat, Dr. Dhanya Menon, and, Prof. Paul Davis.

Research Centre in English

Established along with the college in 1968, the Department of English got upgraded to a postgraduate department in 1995 and is a recognised research centre in English of the University of Calicut since 2004.
