Project Title: 2D Nanosheet Materials of Metal Chalcogenides as a Potential SERS Active Substrate for Chemical and Biochemical Sensing
Funding Agency: Council of Scientific And Industrial Research (CSIR) Principal Investigator: Dr. Surojit Pande, Department of Chemistry
Project Tenure: 36 Months
Job Description: In this research proposal, we are proposing development of an efficient 2D materials for trace amount detection of explosives via surface enhance Raman sensing, Initially, 2D materials will be used for the detection of Raman probe molecules. After that, the same material will be undertaken for the sensing of chemical and biochemical compounds.
Qualification: Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc. in Chemistry (Inorganic/Physical Chemistry background) or equivalent with minimum 55% marks and NET/NET-LS/GATE qualified
Knowledge in nanomaterial synthesis and Raman spectroscopy will be preferred Proficiency in dealing with data analysis software e g. Ongin Excel Good verbal and written communication skill in English.
Age Limit: Age not exceeding 28 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 year for SC/ST/PH/OBC/WOMEN candidates.
Fellowship: 31,000/- (initially first two years) and Rs 35,000 (afterward till the end of the project) per month
Registration for PhD.: Selected candidates will be given the opportunity for a full time PhD program at BITS. Pilani as per the institute norms
