AI tools like ChatGPT are leaving teachers anxious about the relevance of assignment submissions, students can now get work done online without the skills or the labour. The technological advancements are such that they don’t even have to plagiarise.

But alarmism about technology will eventually disconnect teachers from the student generation, making the lot conservative, while indifference to these developments will render much of the existing practices pointless. There is a third route, the proactive mode: think of innovative ways in which AI can be used to enrich and strengthen student skills.
